When Western Ave has a red light, WALK sign does not come on even though there are no conflicts for pedestrians crossing Western Ave.

102-108 Putnam Ave Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Riverside
The asphalt is crumbing around a storm drain on on the MLK/PAUS side of Putnam Ave right in front of the school.

Big spalled section all the way across the sidewalk.
  • 81-93 Mt Auburn St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Riverside
Like usual, there is a car stopped in the bike lane. Last night there were three at the same time. It seems to be a mix of TNC and food deliveries. Can the city remove a traffic lane and just make one lane a loading zone? Mt. Auburn necks down to a single lane the next block up, so there isn't really a throughput issue here.
  • 44 Bow St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Riverside
The bike lane markings on Mt. Auburn are getting worn through. They seem like they were done with paint and not thermoplastics as they are only a year old. The do get a decent amount of wear and tear since cars drive on them a lot.

Can the city add more of these bike exceptions? There are numerous other intersections in the city where it is completely appropriate for bikes to make rights on red (or continue through T-intersection where the bike lane is uninterrupted), but also appropriate to restrict cars from doing so.

A good example of a place that could use this is the intersection of Putnam and Mt. Auburn. If cyclists obey the "no right on red" sign, they end up with cars tailgating them or passing across the double yellow lines on Putnam. Similarly, anywhere cyclists are turning right into a bike lane, that movement should be allowed for bikes.

John W. Weeks Bridge Cambridge, Massachusetts - Riverside
One set of uplights have been out-of-service for a while on the central span of the Weeks Bridge. I assume this is a DCR issue.
  • 420 Broadway Cambridge, Massachusetts - Mid-Cambridge
Is there an update on the traffic signal here? This has taken a very, very long time. In the interim, can a rapid-flash pedestrian sign be installed? The days are getting shorter, and this intersection is really dangerous in the winter for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • 371 Harvard Street Cambridge, Massachusetts - Mid-Cambridge

All of the traffic signals along Harvard St have very long delays for pedestrians. Even after pressing the buttons, it can take several cycles to get the Walk signal. These aren't high traffic streets, yet it is quicker and easier to cross Mass Ave!

    These signals encourage jaywalking.
