Description
We had a lot of water come up in our basement again today - Dec 18 and Jan 10 - far more than we have ever had before. I understand that these were two significant rain events, but when I cleared all of the storm drains on the block (5 in all) in the early morning of the compacted leaves and debris, water shot up from the adjacent manhole suggesting capacity issues with the system that may have caused rainwater to back up into my flat roof drain and my basement. Is there any way to get a status report on the capacity of our local storm drains? I can't remember the last time anyone came by with the clamshell or if the drain in the street has ever been scoped. The fact that cars were not towed for street cleaning has led to there being far more leaves and debris on Lee Street and Broadway than I have ever seen in previous years.
