Description
The same Mattapan company that recently nailed their advertising to a nearby tree (and was fined) has returned and nailed their sign to a utility pole on the odd side of Lee Street close to the corner of Broadway. Please fine them again and have them remove the advertising sign. It's higher than I can reach without a ladder.

While I certainly may agree that this is not a Forestry issue (and I don't know why it was so referred), it would be quite a revelation to learn that there is no City ordinance limiting advertising, including political advertising, on telephone polls and other non-City utility poles. Am I then to believe that any such complaints about such advertising must be addressed to the various utility companies - all of who typically share the same utility poles? This doesn't seem consistent with my understanding of municipal ordinances where there has historically been enforcement against such activities.
In particular, how does this jibe with “Municipal Code 9.04.051 - Attaching Commercial Notices to Private Property Not Allowed”?
I understand that “9.04.050 - Defacing public property" covers the matter of City-owned utility poles, but wouldn't all other utility poles fall under "Municipal Code 9.04.051"?
